Scottland FC Makes History: First Domestic Club to Own an Ambulance

Scottland FC

Scottland FC has become the first domestic football club to acquire its own ambulance. The ambitious club, part of the ZIFA Northern Region Division One, purchased a custom-made ambulance from Brazil, where their new luxury team bus is also being assembled.

Scottland shared images of their branded ambulance with H-Metro, noting that it is ready to be shipped to Zimbabwe while work on the luxury coach continues.

Historically, local football clubs have not invested in their own ambulances, typically hiring them as a requirement before matches in the Premiership and Division One leagues. This practice has led to significant costs over the years, while Scottland will benefit from owning their own ambulance, reducing ongoing expenses.

A local football agent commented, “It’s like choosing between paying rent for years or investing in your own house. While not all clubs have the same financial capabilities, some have had considerable resources but failed to view this type of investment as important.”

Scottland, established at the beginning of the year, has demonstrated its commitment to investing in assets, including renovating Mabvuku Stadium for matches in their home suburb. They also revealed images of their nearly completed luxury bus, being built by Brazil’s Marcopolo S.A., the largest bus manufacturer in South America and the third largest in the world.

This investment in both the luxury bus and the ambulance signals that Scottland intends to stay in the game long-term. Although some worry about the club’s sustainability if they fail to secure promotion to the domestic Premiership next season, investing in such assets indicates a strong long-term vision.

Scottland, set to play at Rufaro this afternoon, has also signed high-profile players, including Ronald Pfumbidzai, who returned from South Africa. Scottland FC
