FORMER Andy Muridzo manager Simbarashe Norman Nyahunda, popularly known as Simba the Lion King, is slowly inching into the local music scene.
Nyahunda mixes Afro-pop, dancehall and R&B. Maximising on his ample vocal abilities, he randomly assembled his debut eight-track album titled, The Birth, in which there’s a trace of Akon-type of songs.
Nyahunda recently released a videos for Crazy Party, a collaboration with GMC and another promising hit, I’ve Got the Wings, with Ryd. Last weekend, Nyahunda, who was accompanied by Ryd, was seen off by his fans as he took off for Zambia where he recorded a song with the Zambian diva, Serah K.
Serah K is famous for singing her songs in different languages including Shona. While in Zambia, Nyahunda made a special appearance on Diamond TV Zambia, where the Crazy Party video is already being played.
The release of his first album caught the attention of Lion Music Management in the United States of America. Working alongside Jewel Diane, he tasked her to fly to Zimbabwe in July to oversee the video shoot.
“We struck a recording deal at Akon’s studio in the USA, which will include collaborations with Sean Paul, Sean Kingston and Alkaline,” said Jewel, adding, “This is highly impressive for a new artist to be recognised at such high levels. It is Mr Deen’s hope that that Simba becomes one of Africa’s music ambassadors.”
Lion music management comprises of personnel from America, Kenya, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Jamaica and Nigeria and on board is Simba, who will soon join them in America.
