Wellington Phiri from Chegutu used a complex ploy in which he disguised himself as a woman and went to the house where he assumed his wife was with her lover by dressing up in all of his wife Prisca Mhuru’s clothing, including her headscarf, bra, and dress.
But Phiri’s plan did not work out the way he had intended. Upon reaching the residence and tapping on the door, he was met by a man known only as Mabhayo, whom Phiri alleges has been having an extramarital affair with his wife. Phiri was forced to leave the area when Mabhayo, seeing through the disguise, shut the door and threatened him with an axe.
“My marriage has been ruined by my neighbor. I suspected that Mabhayo was using his bedroom to accommodate my wife because he is not married. Since Mabhayo has a fondness for women, I dressed like a lady and went to his residence. Wellington stated, “His dog tried to scare me, but I kept knocking, and he opened up for me.
Phiri claims to have two children with his wife, but he thinks Mabhayo, who is unmarried, has been having Prisca stay in his bedroom. Phiri claimed that Mabhayo’s weakness for women is to blame for his marriage’s disintegration.

“He took an axe, locked the door while my wife was inside, and threatened to kill me after realizing it was me,” Phiri said.
”Ndine vana vaviri nemudzimai wangu asi Mabhayo afunga kudya zvevapfupi nekureba,” he told H-Metro.
Mabhayo and Prisca could not be reached for comments. However, sources close to the situation suggest that Phiri has been engaged in ongoing clashes with various men in the neighborhood, suspecting them of having affairs with his wife.
