ZANU PF has decided to limit the number of delegates for the 21st Annual National People’s Conference, scheduled from October 22 to 27 at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair grounds in Bulawayo.
The party’s National Chairperson, Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri, announced this decision following a meeting of the National Coordinating Committee at the party headquarters in Harare on September 20. She indicated that this year’s delegate count would be significantly reduced compared to previous years.
Muchinguri-Kashiri explained that attendance would be restricted to key party members, including Politburo, Central Committee, and National Consultative Assembly members, as well as provincial executives and district coordinating committees.

This approach was influenced by best practices observed in other countries, such as China, which also favor smaller delegations for their conferences.
She emphasized that this smaller group would lead to more meaningful discussions and resolutions. The conference will focus on the theme: “Industrialise, modernise towards Vision 2030.”
Several key ministers are scheduled to present reports during the conference, including Mthuli Ncube, who will analyze the economic situation, Winston Chitando, who will report on the mining industry, and Anxious Masuka, who will provide an overview of the agricultural sector.
