Thieves recently broke into a parked Nissan X-Trail and made off with a bag containing over US$17,000 in cash, along with sportswear.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) confirmed that the theft occurred shortly after noon on Tuesday at the intersection of King George and Natal Avenue in Avondale, Harare. In a statement, the police reported:
“Police in Harare are investigating a theft from a vehicle that took place at the corner of King George and Natal Avenue, Avondale, on November 12, 2024, at approximately 12:30 PM. Unknown suspects used an unidentified object to break the rear right quarter glass of a Nissan X-Trail and stole a bag containing US$17,555 in cash, as well as sportswear.”

Authorities are urging anyone with relevant information to contact the nearest police station.
In an unrelated case, the police successfully recovered a Mazda Atenza (registration number AES 9788) on Monday in Lusaka, Highfield, Harare. The car had been stolen during a robbery in Marondera on Sunday afternoon at around 3:45 PM.
