With the switch from clay to grass courts, which are faster and more slippery, Jabeur decided it was too risky for her knee. She shared on Twitter that her medical team advised against participating to protect her health and the rest of her season.
Sha’Carri Richardson, the current Women’s 100m world champion, has qualified for the Olympics with an impressive performance at the USATF Olympic trials in Oregon. She ran 10.88 seconds in her heat, 10.86 seconds in the semifinal, and a world-leading 10.71 seconds in the final.
Richardson believes that she and her teammates, Melissa Jefferson and Twanisha Terry, could win all three medals in the 100m race in Paris. She credited their coaches and support system for their success and confidence.
