Authorities have recovered the remains of a 27-year-old man, Valentine Tamuka Zireva, who was wanted in connection with the murder of a student teacher in Guinea Fowl. His body was discovered in a bushy area at Beacon Kop in Shurugwi on February 3, 2025.
Midlands Province police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the identification of the body. Zireva was last seen on January 24 with Keener Tsanana at Guinea Fowl High School, where Tsanana, a student teacher, was found dead the next morning.
Investigations into the circumstances of Zireva’s death are currently underway. According to Inspector Mahoko, the decomposed body was located by a passerby around 9:00 AM, showing signs of advanced decomposition and with a bark string tied to a nearby tree.
After the discovery of Tsanana’s body on January 25, Zireva had not been seen until his remains were found. Inspector Mahoko has urged the community to seek peaceful resolutions to conflicts to prevent such tragic outcomes.
