Fifteen people were injured on Monday morning when a bus they were on veered off the road and overturned along the Harare-Bulawayo Road.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) reported that a Govasburg bus, carrying 30 passengers, lost control near the 244-kilometer marker, flipped over, and came to rest on its right side. Those injured were taken to Gweru Provincial Hospital for treatment.
While the exact cause of the accident is still under investigation, common factors in bus accidents in Zimbabwe include speeding and aggressive driving. Overloading buses with passengers and cargo further increases the risk, making them more difficult to control.
In a separate incident on Saturday, two people were killed and several others injured when an Inter Africa bus overturned at Umguza Bridge along the Bulawayo-Gwanda Highway.
