Madzibaba Ishmael, leader of the Johane Masowe eChishanu Gorejena Penyeranyika Sect, appeared in court yesterday facing charges of raping three 14-year-old girls, resulting in the birth of three children.
According to H-Metro DNA tests conducted at the National University of Science and Technology confirmed Madzibaba Ishmael’s paternity.
The victims, now mothers, were allegedly raped between 2018 and March 2024. The first complainant gave birth to a baby girl in January 2024. The second and third complainants gave birth to baby boys in 2022 and 2024, respectively.

Prosecutor Lancelot Mutsokoti presented DNA Paternity Test Certificates as exhibits. Madzibaba Ishmael’s lawyer, Musindo Hungwe, argued that his client’s arrest was unlawful and requested an investigation into the matter.
Magistrate Stanford Mambanje ordered the State to investigate the complaints.
