Freddy , born Freddy Manjalima, is a Malawian musician-cum-comedian who gained fame through drama. Kapfupi was born on 31 October 1976 in Ruwa .
Kapfupi, recently celebrated a momentous occasion as he tied the knot with his longtime partner, Precious Kabrito, also known as Mai Nga. They have four children: three girls and one boy. He also has an illegitimate child with his ex-girlfriend Patience Chimbare

In 2023, Kapfupi declared his interest in the entertainment sector. He declared that Clive “Kapfupi Yut” Manjalima, his son, would succeed him. Clive performs Zimdancehall songs.
Freddy Manjalima attended Raymondale Primary Domboramwari Secondary schools and began his interest in drama at Grade Four.
After dropping out of high school in Form Two, he worked in menial jobs such as acting, sewing, and herding cattle. Kapfupi gained fame by performing comedian stunts on Harare’s First Street.
In 1998, he established True Vision Drama Club with Jeffrey Chikwesere, known as Aphiri. They recorded a comic-drama series ‘Magariro’, which was screened on local television.
Kapfupi began concertrating on live music and formed Orchestra Ndoozvo band. In 2010, he released a song ‘Mai Nga’, which was well-received and its video was voted number one on Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation TV’s top 100.
In 2005, he recorded his debut album ‘Uchakanga Waya’ and the ‘Mai Nga’ (2010) album, which included a track called ‘Juice Card’. In 2013, he made his maiden journey to London with fellow comedian ‘Marabha’ (Charles Merisi). In 2010, his song ‘Mai Nga’ won the Song of the Year category at the National Arts Merit Awards.
