ZIM dancehall artist Poptain has openly shared that he is currently battling mental health issues, specifically depression, and is seeking professional help.
He apologized to his fans for his recent outburst, which was recorded and involved using derogatory language to insult fellow musician Young Gemini. Poptain revealed that he had been tested by numerous challenges this year, to the point where he even considered quitting music.
The situation escalated after a heated exchange between the two artists was leaked. In the recording, Poptain is heard insulting Young Gemini following what he described as disrespectful behavior from her.
Poptain explained that he had been under considerable stress and that his reaction was exacerbated by personal struggles. He also mentioned that he had stopped responding to her after she insulted his wife and car.
Poptain elaborated on the incident, stating that he had been asked by event promoters to introduce all the artists at a show, as he was the biggest brand there.
He felt disrespected when Young Gemini sent him a voice note insulting him afterward, which led to his emotional response. He also expressed regret over the incident, acknowledging that it was not his proudest moment, and attributed it to a lapse in his mental state.

In addition to this, Poptain voiced frustration about the constant negative criticism he faces, especially when attempting to support female artists.
He explained that he had been criticized for trying to uplift them, and even when he takes action to protect his rights, such as when he is not paid for his work, he is often blamed.
Poptain stressed that while he doesn’t want to justify his actions, he is a fighter and will continue to stay strong.
He also hinted at taking legal action against Young Gemini for data protection violations. In his message to fans, he expressed his deep regret and apologized for the use of foul language.
