A weekly report from the Ministry of Health and Child Care recorded a collective total of 1 115 cases of dysentery, anthrax, snake and dog bites countrywide.
Zero cases were recorded from the total cases that were recorded during the first six days of April 2025.
Dysentery: 300 cases and zero deaths. Provinces that recorded the highest were, Manicaland-79 and Mashonaland East-58. Cumulative figures 6 514 cases and 3 deaths.
Anthrax: Two cases and zero deaths. Cases were reported from Gokwe North 1 and Gokwe South District 1, respectively. Cumulative figures 49 and zero deaths.
Snake bites: 167 cases and zero deaths. Cumulative figures 2 193 and 9 deaths.
Dog bites: 645 cases and zero deaths. 140 were bitten by vaccinated dogs, 370 by dogs of unknown status. The highest cases were reported from Midlands 102 and Mashonaland Central 86. Cumulative figures 9 218 and zero deaths.
