Locum Nurse Provider (Outreach x 5)
About Us: Established in 1987, Population Services Zimbabwe (PSZ) is an affiliate of MSI Reproductive Choices and is one of the largest specialized Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) organizations in Zimbabwe. PSZ complements the Ministry of Health and Child Care in providing quality and affordable general health and SRH services across all provinces of Zimbabwe. PSZ is currently seeking exceptional candidates for the following positions:
Locum Nurse Provider (Outreach x 5) Location: (Matabeleland South; Matabeleland North)
The Role: The incumbent will be responsible for assessing clients’ health needs, offering advice on family planning and other sexual reproductive health services, practicing high standards of infection prevention, maintaining clinical protocols, and ensuring accurate and confidential client records. Additionally, participation in stock management and report writing is expected.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities: The incumbent will undertake the following duties:
- Providing family planning services and performing procedures such as implant insertion/removal, IUCD insertion and removal, and short-acting methods
- Ensuring adherence to clinical standards and provision of quality service
- Enhancing service provision in primary health care, family planning, and other SRH services
- Counseling clients and providing advice on various family planning methods to enable informed decision-making
Qualifications and Experience:
About You: To excel in this role, you must possess:
- Diploma in General Nursing/Midwifery
- Forensic License (M.C.A.Z)
- 2-3 years post-qualification experience in Family Planning Training
- Knowledge of modern FP methods is advantageous
- Trained and Certified in IUCD and Implants by ZNFPC
- Current practicing certificate from the Nurses Council of Zimbabwe
- Team player with a high sense of responsibility and accountability
- Proficiency in the respective local language (e.g., Ndebele & Shona) is required
