263 Club guide Friday August 5

Party goers are in for a long one this time around with a long weekend setting in starting today until Tuesday as the country celebrates Heroes’ Holiday.

In Harare the epic event of the weekend is Lets Laugh Again comedy show headlined by Ugandan Anne Kansime who will be joined by the hilarious Baba Tencen and other comedians penned in for Saturday evening at the Harare International Conference Center (HICC).

As a build up to Saturday comedy event, Friday kicks off with Sulumani Chimbetu taking his gunship to Bulawayo as he celebrates the late Simon Chimbetu’s life at the City Hall where he will be joined by Patricia Majalisa. Saturday the captain will be back on stage at the Oddssey Hotel in Kadoma where he will be joined by King Shaddy and Dobba Don. On Sunday he performs at a family show at Zindoga Gardens in Waterfalls. Spilling over into the extended weekend Chimbetu is set to perform at the Volt Club on Monday.

Club Gunners in Mufakose hosts Talking Guitars tonight.

Budiriro 4’s Mhizha Bar hosts Tendai Chimombe will be performing at the joint.

Jazz 24/7 lives up to its title Friday night as Victor Kunonga takes to the stage joined by Mbeu and the Mhodzi Tribe.

Gary and Willom Tight start off their weekend at Las Vegas Club in Southerton tonight. They have a jam packed Saturday as they usher in the summer warm up at City Sports Bar joined by Mbeu and Benjamin Chidewe. The duo will round up the weekend with a performance at Legends Sports Diner in Marondera.

City Sports Bar hosts Progress Chipfumo for the after Bhora Party alongside DJ Danny and Banyana Bafana.

Bar Rouge at Long Cheng Plaza brings back the rhumba outfit Diamond Musica by public demand tonight.

It will be the Miss Bulawayo-Harare tomorrow evening at Private Lounge Bulawayo where lasses will be battling it out on the ramp for the crown.

Hartsfield Sports Club hosts the Club 263 Pre-Launch party tomorrow.

Private Lounge Bulawayo hosts the Daily playroom show and it will be one not to miss this Heroes’ Holiday with DJs Delroy, Emmity, Smooth, Mellow T and Sweeto.

Boomerang Hurudza in Tafara hosts MC Gulboy’s birthday bash tomorrow evening.

Magreen Chareka and his Khiya Boys performs at Makotore Bar located in the eastern border town Mutare.

The Buga Family hosts a Heroes day special at Koeffman in Mbare on Monday with a show to be graced by a host of artistes among them DJ Cables, Wellaz Family, Hwindi President, Blot, Ras Kumbi, T Makwikwi, Ras Pompy, Jah Child among many others.

Eddy’s Bar in Athlone hosts Young Chief Chareka and Chachaya Chalengers alongside Eriah Tembo and the Bhundu Legacy Band.

Cresta Oasis’’ Afrique Bar hosts DJ Turntables for the Jazz and new skool bash tonight.

For Harare based women their Saturday may kick off on a high note as the Afternoon High tea party that is being hosted at Maestro comes with a chance of winning a date with Jah Prayzah.

Rocky Saturdays at Mereki comes with a new twist as DJs take turns on the decks in the Dancehall vs Zim Dancehall themed event, among the long list of DJs billed to play, Swedish based Infinity Sound will also be part of the line-up.

After all is said and done Bulawayo will take a breather and come back alive next Thursday night as the city welcomes a new bar in town; Club 263 which eventually prepares the mood for the Mudhara Vachauya album launch next Saturday at the Large City Hall.
