Nqobile Magwizi, a candidate for the ZIFA presidency, met with ZIFA Central Region councillors over the weekend to understand their expectations for the future of the organization. Following the discussions, Magwizi stated that the feedback he received will play a key role in shaping his manifesto, assuming he is nominated as one of the final candidates for the upcoming elections. He emphasized the importance of understanding the concerns on the ground as he works on his manifesto.
“I had a great time listening to the councillors’ expectations. It’s essential to create a manifesto that addresses the real issues faced by the stakeholders. Engaging with the councillors provides valuable insights that will inform my platform, should I be fortunate enough to be included as one of the final candidates in the election,” Magwizi said.

The deadline for nominations for the ZIFA elections is December 11, after which all nominations will undergo an integrity test to determine which candidates will be eligible to contest the elections.
Several individuals have already submitted their nominations, including Magwizi, Marshall Gore, Themba Mliswa, Gilbert Muponda, Farai Jere, and Walter Magaya.
Magwizi has been a member of the Banket Mine Football Club’s board since 2017 and is currently overseeing the installation of bucket seats at the National Sports Stadium.
