The Zimbabwe Agricultural Show (ZAS) opened yesterday in Harare, with an expected week full of commerce, innovation, and international cooperation on tap ahead.

Over 560 exhibitors have taken up all 76,000 square meters of exhibition space at the event, which runs through Saturday. This is a considerable increase above the 410 exhibitors who took 53,300 square meters last year.

The greater number of participants this year is a 28 percent increase, highlighting the Show’s increasing importance in the commercial and agriculture sectors.

Additionally, the Show has drawn a wide range of foreign exhibitors. Eleven foreign nations are represented which are China, Malawi, Tanzania, South Africa, Zambia, Pakistan, Eswatini, Japan, Russia, Mozambique, China, South Africa, and Tanzania.

This is a significant increase over the five nations who participated last year. This international presence demonstrates how Zimbabwe’s agricultural advances and business potential are gaining traction around the world.

This year’s event is marked by a significant departure from precedent. The Show is getting ready, according to Mr. Tawonga Miriyoni, ZAS Head of Programs and Public Affairs Officer. We are prepared, and things are proceeding. While several exhibitors are still organizing their stands, Miriyoni said, “We are looking forward to a fruitful Show.” This year, security and safety come first. New security measures for the event will include drones and contemporary CCTV cameras to watch the location all week.

To improve safety, there will also be restrictions on vehicle mobility inside the commercial hub. To guarantee children’s safety, precautions include tagging them with addresses and forms of identification. This year’s show’s theme is “Cultivating Prosperity: Growing Business.” bringing about change through innovation. Its tagline, “Nurturing Our Future,” embodies its goal of showcasing innovations, industrial accomplishments, and prospects for expansion.

Attendees may anticipate a variety of business and networking possibilities, as talks and exhibits are planned to promote meaningful relationships and the sharing of knowledge. In addition, there will be plenty of parking, food courts, and well-equipped facilities with effective ticketing and gates. Renowned local performers will give live performances at the Glamis Arena, bringing a lively cultural element to the occasion.
