A 57-year-old foreign businessman in Bulawayo’s Kumalo area faces charges for allegedly raping his 27-year-old maid, who has mental health challenges.
The maid became pregnant after multiple assaults. The businessman denied paternity until a DNA test showed a 99.9% match.
The court postponed the trial for a mental health evaluation, confirming the maid’s Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Mild Intellectual Disability, rendering her unable to consent to sexual activity.
