Job Description: Are you a skilled and passionate Butcher? We have an exciting opportunity for you to showcase your expertise and provide top-notch meats and services to our valued customers. As a Butcher, you will be responsible for conducting quality inspections, utilizing various tools like meat grinders, knives, and saws to prepare meat, cutting it into precise portions, and ensuring attractive displays and signage. Your role will also involve engaging with customers, understanding their preferences, offering advice on proper cuts and preparation methods, and coordinating seamless pickups or deliveries.
Duties and Responsibilities: Your key responsibilities will include:
- Cutting, grinding, and preparing meats for sale.
- Maintaining tools and equipment, ensuring accurate and appealing displays and signage.
- Weighing, packaging, pricing, and presenting products.
- Managing records, budgets, and inventory.
- Conducting quality inspections on meats and related products.
- Negotiating and confirming orders with suppliers.
- Adhering to food safety and sanitation controls.
- Interacting with customers, offering advice, answering queries, and managing orders or payments.
- Coordinating efficient deliveries or order pickups.
Qualifications and Experience: To be considered for this role, you should possess:
- 5 “O” Level subjects, including Maths and English.
- Education in meat processing or relevant field.
- Experience or education in food preparation or meat cutting.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, ability to stand or walk for extended periods, lift heavy items, and work in cold environments.
- Additional training is often required.
- Knowledge of meat preparation techniques and cuts.
- Strong communication, task management, and customer service skills.
- At least 3 years of experience with traceable references.
