The Israeli Knesset’s adoption of draft laws prohibiting the United Nations Relief and Works Agency’s (UNRWA) operations for Palestine refugees in the Occupied Palestinian Territory and denying its employees the diplomatic privileges and immunities accorded to UN organizations operating in Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem, is strongly condemned by the state of Palestine’s embassy as a blatant violation of international law and Israel’s obligations as the occupying power.
The recently enacted legislation seeks to resolve the refugee issue and their rights to compensation and return, emphasizing that the resolution is an attack not only on the Palestinian refugees but also on the United Nations and the world, which decided to establish UNRWA in 1949 under resolution 302.
The measure demonstrates that Israel has devolved into a fascist state; thus, the world must take a decisive action against this deadly Israeli legislation that violates international law, treat Israel as a racist state, and remove it from international legitimacy because it has crossed all red lines.

The state of Palestine reiterates that all governments have an obligation to avoid violations of international law, particularly those occurring in Gaza: the denial of humanitarian assistance, starvation as a weapon of war, and the forceful relocation of Palestinians.
In order to facilitate the widespread delivery of humanitarian aid and essential services in Gaza and the West Bank and to completely terminate Israel’s occupation of Palestine, Ambassador Tamer Almassri emphasizes that the international community should compel Israel to abide by the binding rulings of the International Court of Justice.
More than 5.9 million Palestinian refugees depend on the UNRWA agency for essential services, and the international community must continue to support it politically and financially.
