Miss Universe Zimbabwe, Sakhile Dube, who was supposed to have joined other contestants in Mexico for the Miss Universe pageant, is still in Zimbabwe after being denied a visa by the US Embassy Harare.
Sources present at the Embassy on the day she attended the visa interview witnessed the process, noting that she did not receive approval from the Embassy although they do not know the reason for the denial.
Representatives from the Miss Universe Zimbabwe team anonymously confirmed this information.
Sakhile, whose husband Max, a French Embassy employee, is said to be making an effort to write a letter to the US Embassy, hoping to persuade them to grant her and her entourage visas. The outcome is expected to be known by Monday.
Other sources close to Sakhile have reported that if this plan fails, she will fly to South Africa and attempt to apply for the visa at the US Embassy there.

Her third option is to travel to France, where she has been staying for the past five months, and try her luck there. In the meantime, they plan to record her departure as if she is heading straight to Mexico.
This publication was unable to get a comment from Sakhile Dube or the Miss Universe Zimbabwe office, led by Tendai Hunda, before the publication.
The public is eagerly awaiting to see her compete on the Miss Universe pageant stage for the global crown.
It is reported that this time, her husband Max, who allegedly made a generous donation of USD 10,000 at the national pageant, which many believe helped her win the contest, will not be able to do the same at Miss Universe.
Meanwhile, Sakhile, who struggled to answer questions eloquently at the national pageant, has started taking speech lessons in Harare.
