Miss Universe 2023, Sheynnis Palacios, is set to arrive in Zimbabwe today for a five day familiarization tour, marking a significant moment for the country’s tourism industry. The 24 year old beauty queen from Nicaragua will be welcomed at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport by a delegation including Miss Universe Zimbabwe Sakhile Dube, tourism officials, and local celebrities.
During her visit, Palacios is scheduled to meet with fellow models, visit local tourist resorts, and experience Zimbabwean hospitality firsthand. Her itinerary includes a trip to Victoria Falls on Wednesday and a corporate networking dinner, dubbed ‘Meet and Greet with Sheynis Palacios’, at Siyekhaya Estate in Harare.
Palacios is also expected to launch a project in one of Harare’s high-density suburbs, with details to be announced at a press conference upon her arrival. The event is open to modeling enthusiasts and aims to promote Zimbabwe’s tourism sector.

Her visit comes shortly after Nicaragua opened its embassy in Harare, strengthening ties between the two countries. Palacios’ win as Miss Universe Sheynnis Palacios 2023 marked a historic moment for Nicaragua, and her tour of Zimbabwe is seen as an opportunity to showcase the country’s attractions to a global audience.
With international celebrities increasingly endorsing Zimbabwe’s tourism sector, Palacios’ visit is expected to further boost the country’s profile. Her tour will culminate in a welcome dinner, where she will meet and mingle with modeling industry professionals and celebrities.
As the first Nicaraguan to win the Miss Universe title, Palacios’ visit to Zimbabwe is highly anticipated. She will hand over the crown in November in Mexico, but for now, all eyes are on her maiden tour of Zimbabwe.
